What happens during a house call?

Similar to an in-office visit, a house call gives you the opportunity to discuss your foot or ankle problem with an experienced podiatrist. House calls give you access to the high-quality care you need in the comfort of your own home. 

During your house call, your doctor discusses the details of your foot or ankle problem, including your symptoms, medical history, and any steps you’ve taken to relieve your condition. Your doctor also performs an in-depth physical exam checking for any pain, swelling, and other abnormalities. 

Certain conditions like bunions or ingrown toenails can be diagnosed through a simple physical exam. A house call can help you avoid an unnecessary trip to the doctor’s office. 

If your condition is minor, your doctor may recommend steps for at-home treatment. If your condition is more advanced or causes significant pain, your doctor discusses your treatment options and schedules you for an in-office follow-up.

What happens after my house call?

In some cases, your condition may require an in-office visit for additional testing and treatment.
